Phan Nation Road Trips:
Road support for the Phantoms may take on several forms this season, and the “travel committee” explores interest, cost, and availability in organizing trips to other arenas. These trips may take on several forms:
“Invasion”
As we know from our own arena, ticket prices can be much lower if purchased at the “group rate”—often avoiding some of the ticket fees and getting a lower per-seat rate to boot. Plus, we’d all be sitting in the same section, guaranteed! In this scenario, we’d travel independently, although car-pooling could be arranged.
“Bus Trip”
Motor coach travel removes the worries associated with driving long distances, and cuts down on the parking fees. It’s a nice showing, too, for us to arrive all together, and fresh and ready to cheer on our Phantoms! The downside, of course, is organizing the bus and getting it all paid for—which requires some lead time planning and a deposit to be placed to reserve the bus. We can get as fancy as we want: If enough folks are on board, tailgate parties and other events can be attached to the trips. Getting the group rate for any kind of event or tickets, plus the savings in gas and parking, can defray the cost of the motor coach transportation.
