Lehigh Valley Phantoms Phan Club General Membership Meeting
Tuesday, February 27, 2018 Held at Chickie’s & Pete’s
Meeting was called to Order by Interim President Shawn Meder at 7:06pm
Officers present: Shawn Meder, Interim President; Donna Collins, VP Community Outreach; Dave Christian, Secretary; Rick Collins, Treasurer; Kevin Shorten, Assistant Treasurer, Lee Gaudreau, Sergeant at Arms: Rob Caplette, Social Media Director, Donna Collins, Membership Committee Chairperson.

Members present: The Sergeant at Arms is responsible for maintaining a list of all Members present at the General Membership Meeting; the Membership Committee also maintains this list. Please refer to either of these sources for details.
Guest Speakers:
Andy Rannells, Phantoms Equipment Manager.
Andy thanked the Membership for their continued support. Andy is currently an Employee of the Philadelphia Flyers. He is originally from Minnesota. He started his career as Equipment Manager for his High School Team. He attended and graduated from University of Minnesota, Deluth, where he worked with both the Men’s and Woman’s Hockey Teams. He has served with USA Hockey, primarily U-17. He subsequently served 4 years as Equipment Manager at University of North Dakota, where he worked with current Flyers Head Coach Dave Hackstol.
Andy described his Daily Routine with the Phantoms, both at Home and on the Road. His responsibilities include, but are not limited to; Ordering, Inventory, Maintenance and Repair of Gear, including Sticks (810 allotment/year), Jerseys, Skates & Tukes, Helmets & Visors, Gloves and Pants, Goalie Equipment, Jerseys and Lettering. Also, Specialty Jerseys as chosen by the Brooks Brothers. On Road Trips, he is responsible for Coordinating such activities with the Home Team.
Andy followed up his Presentation with a Question and Answer Session. The Membership expressed their appreciation to Andy for his time.
Ben Youngerman aka Bow Tie Ben
Ben is a Game Day Employee with the Phantoms. Ben grew up locally, with a background in Theater and Chorus. Ben attended Syracuse University, where he served as Mascot for 3 years; he also worked as a Play-by-Play Announcer. Ben has performed at numerous Minor League Baseball Games. Ben has Improvisational Training and specializes in Character Work. Ben currently works as Marketing Manager at ArtsQuest.
Ben followed up his Presentation with a Question and Answer Session. The Membership expressed Gratitude to Ben.
Erica Unger, Phantoms Charities
Erica promoted the Phantom-sponsored current Charity, the reconstruction and refurbishment of a House for a special-needs Child. Erica solicited Volunteers to help with this Project.
Treasurer Rick C. presented the Monthly Financial Report for the period ending February 27, 2018. To summarize:
Opening Balance: $ 6,517.11
Income: $ 1,147.28
Expenses: $ 954.71
Closing Balance @ 02/27/18: $ 6,709.68

Phantoms Phan Club Player of the Year Voting:
Player of the Year Voting will end on April 3rd, 2018. Members are reminded they may vote 4x per day at the Club Web Site, phannation.org.
Phan Club Game Day Tables:
Table for every game for the remainder of the season.
Ongoing raffles for autographed “Ghost” Jersey and
Game used autographed sticks from Robert Hagg and Taylor Leier.
Player of the Year voting.

Election for vacated Club Officer Positions:
President – Nominations were opened for the vacated position of Club President. Shawn Meder was nominated, the nomination was seconded. Nominations remained open, then were closed. By virtue of there being only one nominee, and in accordance with Club By Laws, Shawn Meder was elected Phan Club President. Congratulations, and Good Luck, Shawn.
Vice President – Internal Operations – Nominations were opened for the vacant position of Club Vice President for Internal Affairs. Judi Leinhauser was nominated, the nomination was seconded. Nominations remained open, then were closed. By virtue of there being only one nominee, and in accordance with Club By Laws, Judi Leinhauser was elected Phan Club Vice President – Internal Affairs. Congratulations, and Good Luck, Judi.

“Spread the Word about Phan Club”.
The matter of Discounting Membership Dues by $5, both Single and Family, for the remainder of this Season, was proposed. A hand vote was taken; there was no opposition. The proposal was established.
