ParticipantNow that the 17-18 season has unfortunately come to a close. Id like to open the discussion for everybody’s thoughts on who they think will be still on the team next year. With the success of this season, hopefully all the players will be able to return to the PPL center for 18-19 season.

KeymasterI think Oskar Lindblom, Travis Sanheim, and Alex Lyon will all be up with the Flyers full time next season. I think guys like Vecchione, Voroybyev, and Danick and Tyrell will most likely be guys getting some time with the Flyers, but won’t be up there full time.
I also think that we are going to have incoming prospects replacing those guys who move up. (Like Carter Hart coming in) so I don’t see a “big” Free Agent signing like we did last season with Varone.June 10, 2018 at 6:43 pm #8647Tyler
ParticipantAs well as alex lyon did this year for the phantoms and for the flyers, i think the flyers have to still figure some things out as far as what they are going to do with the current goalie situation. Mrazek’s contract is up and he is available for restricted free agency. Elliot and Neuvirth both have 1 year left on their contracts and they will become unrestricted free agents. Lyon moving up is obviously depending on if they want to try to keep these guys if they think they can stay healthy. If one of them goes i think alex will move up for sure. Travis and Oskar are no doubt going to be wearing the flyers sweaters next year though.

KeymasterThe Flyers have already said that they are going to let Mrazek go. IF the Flyers get lucky, someone trades for him during the draft. (But I’m not expecting it) I do think it is likely that we see Nuevi traded away for a lower round draft pick (Or as an added piece much like getting the 2nd 1st from the Blues last season)
Now, Going down the list of possible free-agents, they are in 2 groups. Restricted Free-Agents and Unrestricted Free Agents.
The RFA’s are:
Leier
Hagg
Mrazek
Willcox
Morin
Goulbourne
Lyon
Martel
StolarzThe only player on this list I don’t expect back is Mrazek. Because the Flyers said he won’t be back. I expect we will see all the RFAs re-signed. I expect Sam to sign a 2 year deal, because next season is effectively lost to recovery and rehab. We will see him on the Phantoms again next season because once he gets activated he will be sent down. (And no team is going to make a waiver claim for a player coming off a lengthy injury)
The UFAs are:
Read
Flip
Manning
Oduya
McDonald
Muse
Tokarski
O’NeillFrom this group we already know that Read, Manning, and Oduya are gone. The Flyers have Free Agent plans to replace Flip, but he could be back if those plans fall thru. McDonald will most likely be back on an AHL contract. Muse or Tokarski could be back on an AHL deal as well. I’m sure that Will will land either back in WB/S or in Hershey so he gets plenty of games against the Phantoms.
The next group to look at is the prospects you listed at the bottom of the list:
Morgan Frost- Will still be 19, Can play for the Flyers or return to Jrs. I think he will get another year in Jrs.
German Rubtsov- Turns 20 in about 10 days. Should be a Phantom
Isaac Ratcliffe- Still 19, will return to Juniors.
Maxim Sushko- Still 19, returning to Juniors
Matthew Strome-Still 19, returning to Juniors
Felix Sandstrom- Signed his ELC, but has 1 yr remaining on SHL deal. Will return to SHL. The SHL allows him to come to play in the NHL, not the AHL.
Pascal Laberge- Will be a Phantom
C. Twarynski- Will be a Phantom
David Kase- Will be a Phantom
Connor Bunnaman- Will be a Phantom
Carter Hart- Will be a Phantom. I expect he will stay with the Phantoms all season next year.June 22, 2018 at 6:22 pm #8659Robert
KeymasterColin McDonald has signed an AHL deal.
David Drake has also signed an AHL deal.Sam Morin is close to a 3yr deal. I make this comment here because I expect due to his injury we will see him finish the season with the Phantoms.
